AIRLINES COMPANIES
ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal regulates the Portuguese airports and provides information on the departures and arrivals of the aircraft.
TAP Air Portugal is the largest Portuguese airline, which makes internal flights between several cities of mainland Portugal, Madeira and the Azores, as well as international flights to most countries in the world.
In addition to foreign airlines (flag companies and other), there are also low-cost airlines, which connect the main Portuguese cities to other countries (especially Europe). With these companies you can get cheap airline tickets with significant quality, but if you choose to buy the last minute tickets, it can be difficult to get cheap flights.

The Metro connects the Airport to the closest train and buses interface, which is the Oriente Station (Parque das Nações). “Aeroporto” underground station is the end of the red line, which connects to 3 other underground lines (blue, green and yellow);
To go by underground from the Airport to the City Centre:
- First, enter the “Airport” station, take the red line towards “São Sebastião” and (after 8 stations) get out in “Alameda”;
- At the station “Alameda”, take the Green Line, follow towards “Cais do Sodré” and (after 4 stations) get out in the “Rossio” station. Now you’re in Lisbon Centre!
The underground it’s managed by the company METRO DE LISBOA.
To use the underground – Metro – you need to buy the 7 Colinas/Viva Viagem electronic card (which allows pay-as-you-go and you can also use it on the CARRIS buses) and then validate it at the entrance of the station.
